Our game camera captured a bobcat tossing its prey into the air and leaping up to catch it. \u00a0 See this <a href=\"https:\/\/lostpineslife.com\/wild-new-year-at-little-piney\/\">post<\/a>\u00a0for an <a href=\"https:\/\/lostpineslife.com\/bobcat-surprise\/\">amazing video . <\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Wild Visitors<\/h2>\n<p>We have new evidence of two Little Piney visitors that we haven\u2019t seen before, a cat, large bobcat or small cougar, and a lake creature, an alligator or an alligator gar. \u00a0 I\u2019m no wildlife expert so \u00a0I\u2019ll post the photos and welcome your input if you can identify them.\u00a0 Why is it such a mystery?\u00a0 Blurry photos.\u00a0 The feline visited the shore of our little lake just in the left edge of the game camera on two occasions in the dark.\u00a0 The long bumpy lake creature I saw with my own eyes. I photographed him three times, but he was on the far side of the lake and mostly submerged.<\/p>\n<h2>Big Bobcat or Little Cougar?<\/h2>\n<p>I love all the creatures at Little Piney but I get especially excited by the thought of a big cat.\u00a0 I\u2019m a cat lover to begin with, and there\u2019s a thrill in spotting something so elusive even on camera. \u00a0Also, I keep seeing tracks at Little Piney that look like big cats to me. \u00a0 More experienced eyes say \u201cdomestic dog.\u201d \u00a0 But if that\u2019s the case, who\u2019s walking around Little Piney with a big dog?\u00a0 Not us. Hmm.<\/p>\n<p>So here are the photos of the big kitty cat dated March 29th and April 7th. \u00a0There appears to be a long tail but it could be a back leg in motion.\u00a0 Large bobcat or small round area submerged with just a round gray oval above water.\u00a0 It was about five or six feet in length.<\/p>\n<p><a the bank but saw only Blue Winged Teals swimming slowly.\u00a0 I wondered how safe they were!<\/p>\n<p>Then there is this strange picture on the game camera. \u00a0Glowing eyes in the lake?<a 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alligators have been sited in Del Valle and in Tahitian Village in Bastrop in the recent past, but I\u2019ve only heard of gar in our lake.\u00a0 Cougars have been spotted in nearby Camp Swift, but I only know for sure that there are big bobcats at Little\u00a0 Piney. \u00a0Whatever they are I love having these creatures on our land.<\/p>\n<p>What do you and the\u00a0one in the creek is most likely a gar, need to be able to see the head for sure though. The lights in the creek were probably someone fishing at night, animals eyes would be colored.&#8221; \u00a0Carl M<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tail and eyes like gar from that angle.
