The Small Wonders–A Closeup View of Nature at Little Piney

Sometimes it’s the little things that delight me the most.  A single bluebonnet is just as stunning as bluebonnets en masse in the field.  I see tiny treasures all the time at Little Piney, and I’m happy that I can capture some of them with my camera.

Some recent small wonders–

A perfect little ladybug, smooth and precise on a fuzzy thistle leaf–

A little ladybug is tiny perfection.

The sunburst symmetry and textural contrast in these thistle buds–

The trefoil spiderwort just after the rain with it’s perfect complementary hues of yellow-green and blue-violet–

This grass-green dragonfly who would vanish if not for the shimmer of his wings–

And these perfect fresh white blooms are the tiniest treasure of all–
