Little Piney is a sanctuary for more than 130 species of local and migratory birds. I frequently photograph birds, and strive to capture the curious, expressive moments of connection as we make eye contact. Later, I sometimes translate the photos and moments. into larger than life paintings. I also paint the birds in composed groups. In the group paintings, the postures and positions of the birds imply styles of relating—both connecting and distancing—that reflect human dynamics and relationship styles.
